When should I see a chiropractor?

Common ailments that chiropractors often manage are low back, neck, shoulder, and knee pain; however, this is not an exhaustive list. Whether injured or enduring long-standing nagging pain, visit a chiropractor to receive a proper diagnosis. 

What is an adjustment?

An adjustment is one of many forms of manual therapy that chiropractors often use to help with neuromusculoskeletal ailments, and more specifically in dealing with joint-related pains. Chiropractors are the leading experts in adjustment, although it’s not the only treatment modality chiropractors would utilize when treating and diagnosing.

Is chiropractic adjustment safe?

Yes! Scientific evidence has shown that manual therapy in the form of an adjustment can be an effective, and a safe means in addressing neuromusculoskeletal complaints. More importantly, never hesitate to express any of your questions and concerns to your chiropractor! They’ll be happy to listen and accommodate your plan of management according to your needs and concerns. 

Does chiropractic treatment typically require x-rays?

Most of the time, no, chiropractic care doesn't require x-rays. However, depending on your presentation, a chiropractor may order an x-ray to help arrive at an accurate and wholesome diagnosis. And that’s why it’s important to receive a proper diagnosis. 

Is chiropractic care covered by extended benefits/insurance?

Yes, most extended benefits/insurance coverage offer chiropractic care as part of their plan. It is always recommended to check with your insurance provider to be sure.

Do I need a referral to get chiropractic care at the Adelaide Health Clinic?

A referral is only necessary if your third-party insurance provider requests it in order to cover your costs. We suggest you check with your extended benefit plan provider to determine if you need one prior to your initial appointment.
