| Our Sports Medicine doctor, Dr Vineet Nikore, earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the American University of the Caribbean, St. Maarten in 1999 and successfully completed his Fellowships in Sports Medicine in 2007. He also holds a Bachelors degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Western Ontario. Dr Nikore holds many professional affiliations that include: Ontario Medical Association (OMA), Canadian, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine (AMSSM), Professional American Association of Professional Ringside Physicians (AAPRP), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the Association of Chicagoland Sports Physicians (ACSP). In addition to Dr Nikore’s contribution to healthcare, he has contributed to the wider academic community by publishing his research titled “Community associated Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus Aureaus (CA-MRSA): The latest sports medicine epidemic” (Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine, 2007) and “Syncope and near syncope in competitive atheletes” (Current Sports Medicine Reports, 2006), along with scientific abstracts published in journals and presented at conferences. Dr Nikore has been a team physician for the Toronto Argonauts (CFL), USA boxing, and various varsity and high school sports teams. Dr Nikore served in many volunteer roles at various hospitals, including the Chicago Free Medical Clinic, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (assisted the blind with daily living) and the United Way (developed strategies for fund-raising). Dr Nikore is an avid sports and fitness enthusiast. He enjoys weight-lifting, martial arts, Thai boxing, Brazilian Jiujitsu, snowboarding, racquet sports, football, baseball, volleyball, basketball, soccer, golf, yoga, to name a few. He is also is an advanced trauma and life support instructor (ATLS) and a certified personal trainer. Dr Nikore works part-time as an ER physician at multiple hospitals within the GTA and at a pain clinic in Toronto. Dr Nikore, who has a special interest and aptitude in complex homeopathic injections, is a part-time addition to the impressive staff at the Adelaide Health Clinic. |
